400ex no spark

My buddies 400 has no spark. it just sputtered out and now theres no spark. i checked the stator with a ohm metere and its good so i checked thecoil and it's getting some power to it does that mean its the coil since there is no spark but it is getting juce. we dont have a 400 we can swap from so i want to make sure before buying a new one.

My 250x did that too, ground also.
