carb mount filter

i want more power. if i get the bolt on carb filter for my 400, should i use a stage 3 jet kit, or would i have to go fatter. my mods are listed below also.

or i am also thinking of just taking the air lid off. i heard that with the airlid off you automatically have to go with a stage 3 kit, is this true?

you go to a stg 1 with just a pipe and you use a stg 2 if you have a pipe and no lid and last i check the only bike they had a stg3 for was the banshee i'm pretty sure there is no stg 3 for the ex
