That is sweet. SFA yourself!!!!!!!! I wish I had the time to build something off-the-wall. But, my rice-burner is still humming right-along on 35's. ;) :p :devil

Sorry guys, no solid front axle here......for now anyways! After I retire this truck as a daily driver, I plan on doing the SFA conversion with ALOT more lift! But for now, here's what get's me and my toys around.

SFA.... blah blah blah... :eek2:

For a truck that I drive everyday and spent almost $30k on, no serious off-roading for me. I'll take it through mudholes and other stuff, but no rock climbing (the only REAL use for SFA IMO) I'll take my IFS over SFA for everything else anyday of the week. If I have a bug to go do some serious rock climbing or off-roading, I'll just unload my quad...

anyways...

neat picture I dug up from this past winter...our big snow storm. I slammed on my brakes and some of the snow on the roof slid forward on my windshield.

...and no, I wasnt even close to being stuck. :D

My trailer you can barly see... My homies built it from scratch for me... haven't finished the side rails and gas mounts yet... The floor came out bad since we did it in all expanded metal mesh. It is very light and pulls like a charm...

Str8wicked, you must have one heck of a drop bumper and drop hitch for that trailer. It looks tiny behind the AVI.

Thanks guys! Some guy was selling a couple towns away. It had everything I wanted. CD, cap (not in pic), rhino liner, nerf bars and the tires only had 800 miles on them too. He just bought a brand new Dodge and needed to get rid of this one as fast as possible.

Why do you have a Z71 sticker on that truck when they never made the package for that truck????

I realize the Z71 package isnt much, just some different shocks & skid plates... but why put the sticker on your truck????

here is my truck, nothing special, but I like it. If that is Bean's park in the picture, I must go there. Do they run quads at every race? Do they have practice days?

I didn't put the stickers on the truck. I bought it used and they were on it when I got it.

Yes that's Beans Bike Park. I drove for 4 hours to get there and there was no one there so I didn't get to ride it!! I had even e-mailed them to be sure they were practicing the day I was there! I won't ever go back there after that.

well i got this for now as my first truck because if i would have bought a 4x4 i know i would have beaten the hell out of it and i would break it all the time. so now after i pay off this truck i am going to look for an old cj and lift it put a 350 in it and akk that good stuff. a;sp o foger for now i will just use the quad off road, and if i need to go off road in a truck realy bad, i will just take my dads 4x4 tundra

I think that he is trying to say that they NEVER built a 1 ton Z71. I bet the stickers were already on it when you purchased it and you didn't realize that. I hate how everyone with a Chevy or GMC full size puts Z71 stickers on it. I also hate how everyone with a full sized Ford puts 4X4 off road stickers on them.

^ he is right..............the z-71 is a dress up package for the 1/2 ton trucks. And it hasn't been made forever.............they didn't start making the z-71 until sometime after chevy changed body styles in 1988.

Like I said.......I bought the truck used. The decals were on the truck when I bought it. I'm not going to take the decals off and then repaint the fenders. I personally don't care that they never made the package for the truck! With or without the decals, it's a heck of a truck and pulls my camper and trailer great! Other than some wind drag I never know all of that is back there!

I didnt mean to come off the wrong way with ya... just wondering what happened. I understand that you bought your truck that way... like I said, I was just wondering...

As for that kid that attacked me with the wrong information, I went a bit off the handle...but nothing p's me off more than when someone refer's to me as a kid (I'm far from being a kid) and when someone is "very" misinformed tries to tell me I'm wrong.

...anyways, I did not mean for this thread to get off topic.

lets continue on.... :D

Here's the heep. It's getting at least a 3.8L v-6, at best a 350 with an nv4500 5 speed once I get some money. The 3.8 is appealing becaust it is a direct bolt on to my tranny and is easy to get 200hp out of (more for a gtp version)

One day I'll be hauling my bike around in this setup . It belongs to the company that I work for , Royal Distributing . They lend it out to their ATV , Motocross and Snowcross Racers . Sponsored by Royal Distributing and Factory Recreation along with a hunch of others . They let me drive it one day when we had a show to put on . Also got to test out the Raptor that you see in the picture along with the other bike ( can't remember what it was but I know it was a Yamaha)

:) Thanx bro, yeah, I'm tryin my best, but my parents arent exactly the best when it comes to dealing with stuff like this.
My parents are awesome as far as providing for me (cloths, food, roof ova my head, ect), but everything I dont "NEED" :p comes completely from my pockets (i.e. wheels, truck, quad, paintball gun, ect). I'm dam happy to be where I'm at though today being 16yo, that's fo' sho' ;)

That is too funny! A guy at work went to Hot Spring Ark last year and happened to be there on the same weekend as a Hummer ride. There was bunch of them and even had a factory rep with them. Well, my friend decided to go along for the ride in his Jeep he has built. You know compare his 20k ride with some 50 to 80k rides. First big hill one of them just stopped. It would not go anywhere and the motor would just rev. Apparently the master control faulted and it would drive any of the wheels. Well, my buddy towed it in with his Jeep... remember there were a bunch of Hummers there :) and the new owner of the Hummer, got out slammed the door :macho and said: I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A JEEP! Needless to say the factory guy was... uhhhh.. speechless! :D

I did buy it new last June. List price on it was 34400. It's got the 6 liter with 4:10 gears which as you problably know is your only choice unless you get the 8.1 or the Diesel. I wanted the diesel just couldn't justify another 5600 dollars. As far as fuel mileage I have some friends who didn't buy the 2500 because of the rearend but to tell you the truth they aren't getting much better gas mileage with 3:73's. I took it to Knoxville, Tennessee last weekend and I was getting between 13.5 and 14.5 on the four lane running 80 to 85 miles and hour at times. Pulling anything you get 10 no ifs ands or buts. I didn't buy it for fuel mileage! One thing I wish I would of got was the crew cab more room for passengers.
