400ex motor kit?416,440..etc

what ya think.. i mean any kind of motor kit of course would be with cam....something not to expensive.. what ya think gimme some opinions;)

I would do the 416 kit and Hotcam stg 2 pretty inexpensive and good power gains

I was gunna go with a 426 kit but thats the last bore so if anything happends im screwed. So im gunna go with a 416 piston kit and if that messes up ill go to the 426. Also id go with the hotcams 2 also only because its prolly the best cam u can get without needing hardened rockers to go with it. id also get a 11.1 compression too.... that way u wont need race gas

WHAT YA THINK ABOUT THIS... wiseco 440cc sleeve and piston,11:1 compresion,hotcam,port and polsih..mybe valves or springs or something also

There seems to be some confusion around here because half of your guys say you need race gas for a 11:1 compression and the other half say you don't. Most people tell me that you do need it and I just got myne back from being rebuilt yesterday so I am at least going to break it in with race fuel. Basically all I'm saying is if you decide to go with a 11:1 compression be prepared to use race fuel if you have to. If you really don't want to I would go with a 10:8.1 compression to be on the safe side.

with 11:1 you can get by fine with premium...but anything over 11:1 youll need either race fuel or you can mix it half and half

but this motor kit is extremly wild the best bang for the buck i think i have ridden a few and i ordered one for myself

its the LRD 440 kit

it include je high compression piston, larger valves, cam, bore, port job jetting

they do all this for $695 i think

then you getyour exhaust and go

i like it but might be allittle high

contact LRD and see what they can do for ya

thanks jay @ JMS RAcing wow, 695 for all that...thats pretty cheap...i paid 1200 for my enigne work initialy and i didnt get get bigger valves....but if your looking to get some motor work done..get it bored to a 416(.80 over) then get a 11:1 JE piston and a hot cam stage 2....then after that get a clutch....

ya i was thinking the lrd kit maybe also..but does it come with a carb?...i didnt see one but..see if i buy all the stufff seperate..400 cc sleve,wiseco 440 11:1 piston,hotcam stage 2,38 or 39 mm carb and have a local guy port/polish and do the vavle job it would coast me around 600-650$.....by the way what the difference between stage one and stage 2 of hotcam..i cant remember

The stage one is low end and stage two is top end.

you will need race gas at 11-1 trust me
