I was thinking that an automatic spell check for the forums would be a good idea. Considering some of the stuff I've read, I'll be the first to chip in $5 toward the super computer and the add-on to Ben's house. Monkeyboy and Slapnutz, you'll need to leave a deposit to cover the damage when the spell checker catches on fire.:p

I agree. When I write an email it corrects a lot of the words for me. I have to go and double check my work here. Sometimes I will write my thread in email and just copy if over if it is long, so I know I spelled everything right.

I can't figure out if they're too lazy to type correctly, or if they really can't spell. If it's the latter, we're all in big trouble.

lol,my school doesn't hardly teach anything to do w/ writing besides what nouns and adverbs, ect. I don't know how to apply it to my writing though. I spell good at least. I just right choppy and have bad grammar.

I think I've found the root of the problem. I learned the majority of what I know about spelling, grammar, and punctuation by reading (I know, sounds crazy, right?). I don't think schools make kids read anymore. English class only teaches the fundamentals, the rest is picked up along the way by reading well written books, newspaper columns, etc.

Maybe we could have a Monkeyboy/Slapnutz bypass circuit. If we did that, we could reduce the size of the spell check computer from "1200sq.ft. mainframe" to "Commodore 64" size.
