Was it very busy? and what all do you have to have to get on there.

It was not very busy at all that time of year. Of course it was a little chilly too. 50 degrees with a wind coming off the lake.

You have to have a Michigan DNR Off-road vehicle sticker and a daily pass for your truck and your quad. I guess in the summer there is a voucher program going on to get in to the parking lot. I'm not familiar with that. If Magnum400EX reads this maybe he'll give the scoop. He's pretty familiar with it.

The voucher program is as follows:

If you intend on parking in the parking lot, ie truck with trailer or truck not capable of going out in the dunes, you need to obtain a parking lot voucher from the voucher center (free of charge). Vouchers for Saturday can be obtained starting at 9:00 pm on Friday night and are given out until they are gone. Vouchers allow you access into the parking lot from 7:00 am until 9:00 am. If you don't get a voucher or get there after 9:00 am, you have to wait at the voucher center until there is a voucher available. The program for Sunday works the same way, you can just get the voucher on Saturday night at 9:00 pm.

If you have a dune ready truck (ie quad in the back), you can get a Dune Voucher starting at 12:00 noon on Friday. The dune ready vouchers work much the same way, except that they have different times that they allow you in. Check out the following website for all of the details:

The voucher system is a little bit of a pain, but not that bad as long as you know what to expect.
