It depends on what you want. SVT sells a kit for the 4.6 and 5.4 that is a centrifigal type. The same as a Vortech or Paxton. These make lots of horsepower on the top end. If you want something that will add more torque on the bottom end along with the extra horses on top you need a screw type or whipple charger. This is what comes on the Ford Lightning. I don't see any of them on the FRPP site. (Ford Racing Performance Parts), but I'm sure you can find one.

Magna Charger.. which is Eaton...

They make the chargers for ford racing, svt, etc.

I have one of there kits on my Avi which was well worth it.. For my Avi being lifted with big tires I have no problems with power..

Kenne Bell also makes a ton of chargers for Ford products. That might be one to check out.

I only really see Ford as good work trucks. I got a ford motor in my motorhome, its a 1984. It works good for what it has to do. But I like my dads 1500 Chev Silverado. I also like my dads 1957 Chevy Belair with a 327 in it. I think your mistaking yourself that Chevy is a rock:p You know ford F*cked on race day. lol J/K

I think Ford and Chevy are the best. But Chevy seems to be a little more luxury. Damn though, those SVT Lightning haul ***. Although I have fallen in love with my dads 57 Chev, it hauls *** for a little small block.

Speaking of torbo on a lawn mowers GOMER007, me and
my buds were down in this little town doing about
60 in the car when we saw 2 little headlight coming up
behind us. And when it got beside us it was some guy
wearing a FOX racing outfit on a lawn mower that passed
us like we were sitting still. And we were doing 60 for goodness
sack. I aint lying

LMAO!!! :eek2: I would pay money to see that!

I can't imagine going that fast on a lawn mower...I had my friend's fully restored 1946 Tiger riding lawn mower up to 25 mph or so before I almost rolled it into a ditch...I tell you, those things are a tad narrow and have a high center of gravity!! Do not cut the wheel when riding a mower that fast!!! :eek2: :D

A stock 5.4 is supposed to make 260hp +75hp vortech = 325 hp
Stock lightning = 360hp

I have heard the ati prochargers or the kenne bell whippile chargers are the way to go.

Right now there are some 75mm throttle bodys on ebay for like $140 new check them out too.

Paul400ex2002
06-12-2003, 04:32 PM
will those throttle bodies work on a 5.8 windsor?

K_Fulk
06-12-2003, 04:34 PM
No just the 4.6 and 5.4 i belive the old windsor f.i. motors had 2 barrel throttle bodies.
