how much of a differece does the rear raptor shock make a difference on the 300ex over stock??? also with the 400ex spring on it is that way better??

It makes a huge difference, your bike will sit lower and handle alot better and you will be able to hit big jumps and not bottom, if you weigh under 200lbs, use the 400ex spring but if you weight over 200lbs use the raptor spring

You took the words out of my mouth! Make sure you get a shock off of an 01 Raptor!

Say, how does that '01 Raptor shock compare to an '03 400EX shock?

a 400ex shock is too long, it wont work

the raptor shock is nice, but if you do it, do a test for us, I would like to see how the shock is with the raptor rear spring on instead of the 400ex one, it might be better:eek2:

overall is better in every way, sitting lower and losing no ground clearence

I have a 400EX, not a 300EX. I was wondering if the Raptor shock is any better and worth putting on my 400EX. My guessing its probably not worth the trouble.

raptor shock is the same length as a 300ex shock, 300ex rear shocks lower 400ex, so my geuess is a raptor shock would also lower the rearend of a 400ex. probably nice if your flattrackin' thogh, full adjustability

the body of the raptor shock is much bigger than the 300s...???

The stock 400ex shock is pretty good so switching to a Raptor shock wouldn't be worth it.

how much does the raptor shock cost

cdalejef

You will want to find a used one because a new stock one is pretty expensive.

i dunno, got mine off ebay, but they went quick, and its very hard to find one, i paid 167.00 to my door, good dea, then i needed the spring, get that 20$ shipped, and that was a sweet deal for under 200, you wont see anything like that though

I bought a raptor shock for 65.00 ..It needed new seals ..took it to Baldwin & had new seals put in then found hole in bladder of rez. Baldwin put a pep rez with adj & longer hose on it .I ran the raptor spring , my wieght is 155lbs .I tried the 400ex spring & dont see how you can run a 400ex spring on that shock it will have WAY to much sag .the shock is real nice on the back for landing big jumps.
the rear height stayed the same as the stock shock.
I have 400ex arms & triple rate w/rez works up front & overall it is a nice riding quad now.

UMMM, who was talkin about using a raptor shock on a 400ex, excuse me if im wrong. But the 400ex has linkage while the raptor doesnt, so the shock wouldnt fit would it.:confused2

bradley300

the raptor does have a linkage.

and actually jeff, mine sags a good inch compared to the stocker. i dont ntice it until i put it next to a stock one.

I now just put the raptor spring on instead of the 400ex, I have no riding time on it but, I will say I didnt like the sag nor the softness of the shock, it could bottom too easy for jumping

bradley300

because it is the only year the raptor had a remote rezzy on the rear shock, the newer one with the piggy back rezz. will hit the swingarm
