do you keep the throttle on and just use the clutch in turns or do you throttle down in turns? my friend said he tries not to throttle down. is this good or bad?

i have no idea what your talking about, but if it is like lets say your going 50 miles an hour in 5th gear, and your slowing down for a turn, pull in the clutch and hold it in while you break, and depending on how much you slow down, shift (while the clutch is in) down to second or third

derek do you ride a 4x4 cause if you do you wouldnt have any idea what we are talking about. :) its a 2 stroke(250r). so keep the rpms up huh? does this burn up your clutch or anything?

It's gonna be harder on your clutch doin this and most will say it's OK to do with a 2 stroke but not a good idea on a 4 stroke,,unless replacing your clutch often is not a big deal to you. I use the clutch when racing sometimes but try not to abuse it to bad. I guess when i get the new hinson and sparks clutch setup put in..i'll be abusing it more since it's supposed to be billlet proof...:devil

I agree. When racing MX, use the clutch as your throttle. Meaning keep the throttle wide open in turns and use your clutch to slow down or speed up. This way you will always have the power where you need it and will make it a lot easier to break the rear end loose if needed.
