Raptor or Z?

Hey, I'm getting a new quad this week, and I can't really make up my mind. There's a 02 raptor with rear elka shock, nerfs and bump[ers and skids with t4 pipe, for 4500, or a new Z/KFX for 5500. I'm keeping my EX for racing, but need something to have fun on the trails, and if my EX is broken, be a filler at the track. I'm going to spend about 1000 on whatever one I get right after I get it, and was sondering which you guys think would be a better trail and occasinal MX machine. Thanks.

I would get the Z400 for trail and a backup for MX

Well if you're gonna put 1000 in it, the raptor already has the rear elka, so fronts should make it a pretty good trail machine. I like the looks of the raptor better and it's gonna have more power for fun riding, but I don't know how good it will fill in at the track.

i love my Z or KFX same thing, hey i will sell mine to ya for 4,800 i cant ride for along long time! and when i get ready to ride again its KFX 700!! lol

i would go with the z for a backup/ fool around bike. i think it has the best ability to be upgraded and it has the most potential.

i'd say raptor, if you are keeping your ex for racing then really you arnt going to be moding it to much and the raptor isnt a bad price, and it will be a pretty smooth ride on the trails with the elka shock

If it's not a 1st year one, I'd say the Raptor - just because it would be alot more fun. The z is too much like the quad you already have.....Rappys have a lot more power - way torquier! Again, as long as it's not an '01!:D

My vote is for the Z as well. My buddy has had all 3....with mod's. 400EX, Raptor, & Z (Kaw's version). I have to agree with him when he says, the Z is the best quad he's ever owned. I've got some seat time under his Z....I love it! If I were buying a new quad today, that would be it...no questions about it.

Hmmm.......yeah they wheelie pretty good - but the Raptor is still way torquier.......

Although - I hear with the Z's if you get the big bore kits you get tons more arm-yanking power out of those engines......

I would go with the KFX. It is close to the same dimensions as a 400ex so you won't have to get used to riding two completely different handling quads. Plus the green is just cool.

hey dude if i was u id go with the raptor just because uts better than stock and is still cheaper. for reliability id probly take the z tho. whatever u get u shud widen it out a bit and give it more power

from what i have felt riding both a z and a raptor, the raptor jumps better (the z either tends to nose dive or put the front end to the sky unless you take off perfect) and the rappy has more power to slide through the corners so the inside rear wheel isnt off the ground like it is on the Z, but if you get the z get some a arms and shocks and an axle and it may be better. and the Z swingarm is too short! either get the raptor or buy kawasaki_ridah's kfx. they look better then the Zs anyway.
