Ok, I'm wondering if I can buy a pair of 400 a-arms with 250r shocks will i have to put in a new top shock mount? OR- If i just bought some aftermarket a-arms? If I do this will it lower the front end?

the a-arms will bolt right up. the 400EX shocks are way too long. Thre R shocks are also too long but not as long as the 400EX shocks. You can use the 300EX shocks with absolutely no ill effects but it will lower the front end by 2". It handles great this way but you lose that ground clearance. I just installed a durablue lowering kit with 400EX shocks but I had to modify the lowering kit by drilling 2 more holes to raise the top shock mount even more. My quad sits extremely high now, higher than a stock 300EX, and I'm not sure I like it. I think the perfect setup may be 400EX a-arms, Durablue lowering kit, and 250R shocks.

So I could still use the 250r shocks? All I wanna do is make it wider for trails, so I could just loosen them up all the way?

Yes you could use them but you will still need the lowering kit in my opinion. I don't like having to compress shocks to put them in. In fact I'd love to have a set of R shocks to try on my quad.

can you post a picture of your quad with your set up?

Unfortunately I cannot right now. I don't have any pictures of the frontend that I can scan and I can't download pictures from my Handycam bacause my computer doesn't have a USB port. I hope to get everything working properly but it may take a while.
