 i'm looking for my first exhaust system and i'm getting a full system. i've talked to my friend for his input, but i'm still indecisive. i've come down to the White Brothers R-Series Silencer Pro Meg, White Brothers E2 Silencer, and the Yoshimura Complete Stainless Exhaust w/Spark Arrestor. any input on these would be great, and any input on an excellent first exhaust system would be greatly appreciated. but...hopefully info on the pipes i listed because i've narrowed it down to those and i don't want many new ideas thrown at me to make me choose more. also, these are in my price range of about $300-$450'ish. just give me any input that any rider may have of these. if anyone is unsure about these pipes and need more info, a slight description can be found at www.moto-man.com under ATV parts. :D

get the DMC alien, its the best performance pipe out there, looks the coolest, & sounds coolest.

HMF, call the quad shop, they'll hook you up. HMF are the best as far as i'm concerned.

I've heard both the WB E-series and the Yoshi are good systems. I just got a Pro-Circuit T-4, still trying to get my jetting correct, but the initial runs seemed pretty good to me, and it sounds pretty bad*****

i've heard about the WB E-series pipe, but the E2 is different. look it up at www.moto-man.com/catpages/details.pg?item_num=@1606 . does anybody have more input?

white brothers e-series

out of the ones u listed i would go with the yoshimura...it is also the most expensive of the 3 but it is better in my opinion...but i would take a sparks x-6 over any of these...which is what i am buying....they are very helpful and all you have to do is call their number and they can give you any advice you need

Between those two i'd go wihtt he White Brothers, very rarely have i seen a Yoshi on a 400ex, and the ones that have them say they wanted somethign different

Slap a 440 kit in it with a Supertrap :blah

if i was looking for most power, i would not be looking at those two pipes. in my opinion, the x-6 will give you the most power. this pipe will be sweet on top end. if you want lowend, i would look at the x-4. the dmc will give great gains with lots of mid to top end power. i would also recommend lrd, ct, noleen, and hmf. there is no way i would buy the yosh, for what it costs i could get the sparks x-6 and have more power. my friend has the r-4 and my bike is faster than his and i have a factory pipe. by the way, he is running a 152 main.

my buddy needs a good pipe. help us out, please.

i would go sparks x-6 for sure over any pipe and if u dont like that i would go straight for the ct racing pipe

I have a Yosh and love it. This pipe has an awesome sound, but i just have the slip on and when the time comes for a complete i am gunna go with the x-6. Not that the Yosh is bad, but sound is not a prob where I live and the x-6 is proven to be the best.

dude no contest, trust me you want either the sparks , hetrick, or duncan racing pipes, trust me dont even put the pipes you listed and the ones i listed in the same catagory, no contest even with a stock motor the pipes i listed are better, so if you got a lil extra money put it into a better pipe like i listed

05-07-2003, 10:30 AM
no no no...duncan=bad...that is what one of my dads friends said...he bought 1 for his bike and stuck it on only to go out and buy a x-6 and say it owned it

that is a real cheep pipe its only 199 for the slipon and a hi-flo header is only 199 to and on a stock 400ex it gives it around 28 hp. and mostly mid and top end. i dont know tho it depends on what you ride. anyone think its a good pipe for drag racing and hill climbing??

05-07-2003, 03:30 PM
what pipe the x-4 sparks?

blackblue1499
05-07-2003, 03:45 PM
yeah. which exhaust is cheap? i saw on the sparks website that the x-4 goes for $549 w/ spark arrestor. and it only comes in a full system. :huh

phatswinn

spark x-4 and grind the welds in ur header, open the airbox runnin a k&n ( or uni if ya dont liek the guaze filter) i run a k&n and no airbox, all you have to do is clean it regularly and you'll be fine

and ofcourse rejet

Bull. Duncan's new fatboy 4 is a great pipe. Very well made and big power gains. I was getting a sparks x-6 but decided on the duncan after seeing how well it is made.

U got a PUal turner dont ya..

05-08-2003, 09:45 AM
if u say so man but im tryin to tell u that sparks x-6 will blow the duncan away...and the x-4 is $549 and that is ceramic with spark arrestor...u dont need the spark arrestor unless ur riding area requires one that would lower the price to like $489 i think it was...but ill tell u this...u will love the low end with the x-4 and love everything else with the x-6
