Ok i have been wanting to do a yz426 swap in a 400 chassis instead me and my dad are just going to do a 250r build up with everything, suspension, engine, chassis, everything it goign to be X/C bike.

What are some good tips with the r i have owned other 2 stroks but nothign i really wanted to race and keep up.

make a list of everything you want to get. i'd start with a frame/rolling chassis because it will be the most expensive (besides engine in some cases) then say yea i want these nerfs and this plastic and these handelbars and so on

grab a calucator on then run though a few issues of dirt wheels and add up all the parts you want and then if you are buying used stuff browors around on ebay on then add up all the cost and then find out how your going to pay it

yeah, id worry about getting a frame and motor first!! the other stuff can eather be found inthe for sale section on this site or e-bay!!

do i have to get a new frame?
I was thinking just gusset the stock, i buying a used 250r and build off of it

Heres what i have so far. im only 15, 16 buy the time this prject will be done but still pockets not to deep

Engine

Duncan Racing PT Type 6 pipe and STD. Fat Boy $280
Duncan Racing pyramid reed valves $150
265 engine kit, carb,… = $1,200
K & N filter = $35

Chassis

Houser +2 A Arms up chrome black $565
Frame Gussets and P/C black $600
Houser black swing arm std. $550
Rpm dominator axle $420
Works triple rate w rezzy $ 525
400ex rear $350

Its gona run arround 7+ grand as of now

Maybe i should do a 426 conversion buy then if i save up 8 grand or so that mgiht be a pretty good 426.
