bad gas.. does your quad really hate it too

my 400 doesnt take well to bad gas at all. i had half a tank 2 weeks old and the ol hag wouldnt run for more than 3 seconds. new gas, she ran like a champ. anyone else.

Same here. Sometimes you need to drain the float due to the condensation and that is where the water will seperate and sit in the float.

I had the same problem before after the quad sat along time without being used (winter months). I just put in some fresh gas and she ran fine!

No engine likes old gas. I do agree that the water probably settled in the float. If you would have drained the float and then filled up the rest of the tank with good gas , your eingine probably would have ran fine.
