- the same reson a Hanes t-shirt with a logo on it is $6 and an abercrombie shirt with same logo would be $40.
- why would you want to pay $620 for an oem frame when you can get one that costs $2100 and has a houser, arens, leager, ect.. sticker on it?
- no but really aftermarket frames are better than stockers. i am going to do a conversion this winter and use an aftermarket frame so i cant say much.

They charge more for aftermarket frames because, POINT BLANK, they are 1000% superior to stock frames. ( most of them, anyway )

The stock 400EX chassis looks like it was fabricated by the 10th grade "Intro to Metal Shop" class at a high school with significant budget woes. It is built with a cheap-assed grade of mild steel. There really isn't any "notching" of tubes to make them fit properly. Instead, they look like they were smashed together with a dead-blow hammer and welded with a LincolnArc 225 using .250" 6011 rod to fill in the gaps. In all honesty, the 400EX frames were welded by a robot, but I think maybe the fixture might have been spring loaded???

To say that the 400EX chassis is anything close in quality to say.... Arens, Laeger's, or Roll's chassis is OBSURD. SO, why is there a price difference? I dunno!
