shock question

if i want to take my springs off my 400ex stock front shocks can i do this myself or do i need a specail tool

i dont think you can cause the way there made there welded on if i rember correctly aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddd the bottom has that little bar pressed on..................i am sorry man.............:(

im pretty sure you need a tool that compresses the shock
