What do the letters CR, EX, R etc. stand for , i could never figure it out

This is just my interpretation and have no data to back this up/ So.... for what it's worth. CR - Cycle (2 wheeler) Racer (2 stroke). EX - Electric 4 Stroke. X is always associated with a 4 stroke at Honda. R is just a Racer (2 stroke).

As Dennis Miller says, "Of course, that's just MY opinion, I could be wrong!"

Also, the street bikes R's would be racers, but not 2 strokes.

my geuss for cr is closed circuit, racing, thats just my geeuss, i think r is either racing or recreational

i always thought CR stood for "close range" but im not sure ,

I never understood those either. I thought CR stood for Closed Course because it is considered a race bike but thats just my interpetation(sp):ermm:

I'll agree with this. I don't know what it means either but that sounds good to me.

ex, stands for "earth cross". I can't remember where i read that before but i think it was in one of the atv mags.

Also, the street bikes R's would be racers, but not 2 strokes. that pretty much sums it up if ya ask me;)usually the last letter stands for the yr also.....example...CR125 RR,the second R stands for 94,yz80J..the J stands for 82,(lol,I remember those days) etc but mostly pertains to bikes

i agree mostly with what you said, but i dont get why my dads utility is a trx300r. maybe because its a '94?
