I'm going to do some riding this summer on some fire roads in N. Calif. and I haven't road any fire roads since I had my warrior, the thing I liked about the warrior was it was great for fire roads because of its 6th gear it is like overdrive. my friend has a warrior and when we go riding and gwt on long straight aways I'm always looking for 6th gear,
what I am wanting to know is, does anyone here ride fire roads and do you change the gearing? does loosing a tooth on the front sprocket give you more top end?

no, the higher the number in the front the taller the gearing. You should try a 16 tooth front sprocket.

I think that if you will be running fire roads, you should try even higher gearing than just a 16 tooth. If you are running 20 inch tires, go with a 16 tooth up front, and a 36 tooth in the rear. This should work with your stock chain length, it does on mine. One note about the 16 tooth front... You will have to grind off some material on the case saver to make the sprocket fit. Having it a little bit thin is better than having no case saver on there at all.
With this gearing and 20 inch tires, you should be close to 77mph. You should like it for fire roads. The motor won't wind out as badly as with stock gearing. It will be like having that 6th gear.

Fire roads are made when they log forest. The roads run through the forest for miles. Real fun to ride. The fire roads I ride get pretty tight in araes.
Max where are you going to ride these roads. I ride allot in the forest in Nor CAl Home of the KINGS:D

i get 69.2 mph WFO with a 14t on the front and 22" rear tires. 70.0 mph with the stock gearing and 22" rear tires...

btw. this is with the motor bone stock other than a filter and no airbox lid.
