Anyone have any creative solutions for a broken tab on my stock front 400ex plastic? It's the main tab underneath the front fender that holds it down. I just got the plastic a little while back, so I'm not really lookin to buy new ones.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

sorry stevie, eventhough duct tape is a creative solution ;), I just don't think it's going to work for the way I wash and ride my 400. Does anyone else have this problem? or did it just happen to me. Thanks

If it's the very front tab on the plastic don't worry about it.. I don't even have either one of mine screwed down...:ermm:

I have seen people use a soldering gun to melt another piece of plastic to it. It holds up pretty good, obviously not as good as new. But find a piece of plastic, cut it into a square a bit bigger than the tab. Than melt around the edges to adhere the plastic to it. you could also put a bit of crazy glue underneath. Then just drill a hole through, the size you need.

an idea ..make up a bracket out of thin aluminum & rivot thru the plastic to the pc of aluminum now drill a hole in the aluminum big enough to use the oem bolt
to attach the new bracket & original plastic to the quad again

I have used with great sucess a product called gp adheasive from SEM. Put it on the broken reverse selector on an 02 craptor and its held better than the original set up.

Its a two part epoxy and a single cartridge should cover every part your gonna break. Should be under $11.00.

If you guys cant find it let me know I can either get you some info and p/n's or even get you some.

i just took maiers ideal for its plastic, took some strips of mild steel, drilled holes on each end,and bolted it to the stock location, and folded the top piece sticking up over so that the plastic sits flush with it,then drilled the plastic a hole, and got me a homedepot bolt & nut kit,and walla...

I dont have any bolts holding down my Front plastics. Everything is zip tied. Just drill a bunch of holes in your plastic and then slide the zip ties through the frame and the new holes you made. Works just fine.

Zip Ties, is HICK style. Why would anyone want 500 zip ties on their quad. Is it lighter or something? I would rather use my maier set up with bolts than use zip ties, plus zip ties would be as strong. With two holes in your plastic it wouldnt be as strong depending on how much space is inbetween the two holes.

Yah,zip ties def is only if your out on the trail or soemthing, but mine and Nacs maier set-up is waaay more professinal..
