Hey fella's,

I just ordered a 416 kit from C&D Racing, and Colby talked me into a Sparks 8 plate clutch with HD springs, instead of just getting heavier springs. Just wondering what you all think about these clutches...any good?

Is your clutch slipping?

well, it's a 99 and last time out with you, I wasn't feeling a positive shift and was miss shifting alot....ie: I would pull up on the shifter, I thought it went into gear, release, no go and try again, sometimes 3 times to get it to shift.

Colby said it was a good set up due to the added power...hell, I don't know, I just had my credit card out and said sure, why not...

P.S....you wanna help me with that too Dune Surfer... :eek2:;)

I'll help. But...... Iv'e never done a clutch. You do have a manual ...Right ?
Lets do the motor first, make sure it's good then we can tackle the clutch. Sound good?

I can't wait to tear into your engine Ha Ha Ha. (Evil laugh) Are you going to get the valves done when you get it bored? I would.

Hey Tony, where should I get the bore done? I was thinking Duncan, they charge $50.

I would just get it done at Mototech here in Vista. They did mine and did a good job. Fast too. You could wait for weeks at Duncan. As far as the valves go I would have them do a three angle valve job at the same time you get the boring done. Your quad being a 99 I'm sure you need a valve job.. If they dont seal right you will lose performance they could do the seals at the same time. While you have the motor open it would be a good idea to make it like new. Call them and ask what they think. When I took my cylinder to them they wanted to inspect the head also. They did a leak test on it for free and it checked out OK Do a search here for more info on valve jobs.
