Go with Skat Trak Haulers or gliders. Best paddle tires period.

haulers.

My favorite haulers I have had on a 400ex were 22-11-10 8 paddle

400ex has enough grunt to make em really work well. You might drop a tooth in the front.

Find some ultralight haulers, hard to find but half the weight of regular ones. Get a tall size on 8 inch rims.

Another good drag tire is the Pro Wedge. Its more for wet sand drags.

I heard if you run a 7 paddle you will be able to keep the RPM's a lot higher and when all the 400's are bogging on the top of the hill you won't have problems....

I know you should drop to an 8 inch wheel also to keep as much weight down and the 400 will be able to turn them much easier and faster....

The 8 paddle Haulers I run are staggered with gliders. Four Hauler and four glider on each tire. I was able to hold a higher rpm with less bogging.

Chef-- Is that a stock axle? I heard they polish up fairly well, I think I'll do that to mine. Looks much better.

Do NOT get 10 paddle extremes for an EX with a pipe. My 400 is making about 55 (roughly double that of a stock) and the 9's are just about perfect for it.

I think Im gonna try some 7 paddle haulers.. just like Str8Wicked said that it wont bog when you get to the top of the dune. When I used my 8 paddle edge's i'd get to the very top and start bogging, I even went down a tooth on the front and it still did it. So maybe the 7 paddle hauler's will do the trick!!!

You can polish up the axel and yes it polishes well but believe me it is not easy at all... It's sanding and sanding and more sanding since the axel has all those grooves you have to take out... It's worth it when it's done thou..

Here's how mine came out...

I actually run STU Padla Brats. you get those things comp grooved and they would kill. They are already lighter than haulers. The soft paddles are a lot more 400ex friendly than haulers too.

I checked em on there site.. I really don't see how they can be better than hauler in the sand. They look heavy and don't seem to have much height in the paddles.. I like the look of the haulers much more too... I think I need to see those in person...

Aftermarket.. you done for the season or going to be going out again.. I need to see a set of those paddles if you have some in person... When they say they are good for desert riding too does that mean hard dirt or just soft desert....

I see padle brats and desert traks occasionlly. I almost bought a set of paddle brats. They where 18 paddle and almost new. The reason people buy them is customizetion. They have a ton of paddles so people groove them to there own tastes to suit there bike and terrain. A great idea if you don't know what to run and how many paddles your bike can handle.
