Im looking into buying a new cam and carb for my 400ex. I race motocross and i want something to keep up to the other 440 and the 450's. Eventually i want to make my motor a 416 or 426. What kind of cam and carb would be a great setup for motocross? send me all your replies. thanks

Didn't GT thunder say that the Hot Cam grinds were better?

Regardless, you should look at the Hot Cams or GT Thunder. Sparks is a good choice, too, but given the cost & the fact that they won't give any specs, I personally wouldn't ever buy one of their cams. I have the HC stage 2, and it has all sorts of power. Some will say that you will loose too much bottom end w/ it, but I haven't noticed any loss there (I run 14/39 gearing w/ 22" tires, and I don't race MX, only desert & dunes). As far as carbs go, get the FCR 39.

I agree with vegas. But go ahead and get the piston at the same time as the hotcam II.It really makes a big differance. Then think about the 39mm FCR.
