440 ex race exhaust

ok i dont have much experiance with hondas so i got a question. we just bought a mx ready honda 400 ex with a sparks built 440 motor. we bought the quad from a friend who sank a ton of money in the quad but wasnt very good at maintenance and upkeep. we are in the process of cleaning the quad up and i am looking for a new exhaust system. it has a curtis sparks full system that is covered in rust. what is a good full system for this quad. this is strictly a race quad so i want the system that puts out the most power.

yes, the sparks pipe is a good choice, one of the best, i would go for sparks, hetricks, or LRD

I recently put on my full LRD exhaust system and was amazed at the power increase, especially since im running it w/o an airbox lid.

The LRD makes great power with a built engine. I'm sure the others are right there too, I've never ran any of them. Whatever you get be sure to buy the ceramic coated version. You won't get any rust then.

How bad is the exhaust cover with rust? Could you just have it coated? Sparks is a good pipe, I am sure someone knows where you could send it to have it coated again. I would think it would be cheaper then buying a new system. ;)

ya, if i was in you posistion i would just bead blast the mofo and have it coated unless you got money to burn i wouldn't want to drop 500 down on another exhaust just cause the existing one is rusted

Good call. Just have it cleaned and recoated. I've heard Sparks is a good pipe.
