i have a 2000 honda 300ex and sometimes when i jump and land a certain way it will make a popping noise. it sounds like something is cracking. my dad and i looked at it but we didn't see anything. i was wondering if any of you guys have had the same problem.

i forgot to add that the noise is in the front. i think it sounds like a weld craking. please reply.

Make sure you througholy inspect all the shock mount for cracks. Also make sure that there is nothing loose that is hitting something. Thats all i can think of:ermm:

your shocks are bottoming

it is not the shocks because i have bottomed them out already and it sounds different. the sound it is making is something cracking. my dad says that we will find out when it breaks but i don't care to much for that idea.

you said it was from when you landed? well if so it might be a rock hitting your front bumper since it isn't stock. i had the same thing, some noise when i landed so i stopped and checked out everything and nothing was wrong so i kept listening and it came from rocks hitting my skidplate that i made. it might be that.:ermm: :confused2

check skidplates cuz yesterdayi was riding and i guess i hit a rock and the swing arm skid was bent alittle up in a spot under the chain rubbing it but i bent it out for now until i get a better skid

thanks for replyig but i barely even jumped one time and it made the noise. it wasn't high enough for the botom of the frame to hit the ground.(don't have skid plates) i'll figure it out one day.

if your jumping it much, keep a close eye on the frame junction at the shifter side foot peg, it's not what is causing the noise, but it will crack soon.
