You will be getting into more than you think. You dont buy a stroker crank for 300 and 400ex's. A shop will take your crank out and do the mods to it. The crank will be taken out and split. The crank pins are then reloacted for the necessary stroke length whether plus 4mm,6mm,etc. **You CANNOT run just any type of piston with a stroked crank. A custom piston must be used which has been modified with a new wrist pin location to keep the piston from hitting on the upstroke. You will need a HD connecting rod with the increased size for max reliability. Plan to spend $500-900 for tear down and reassembly with the stroke mods and new rod installed. This varies according shop to shop.

In many cases a custom length rod is used - which allows for the use of "off the shelf" pistons.

Thanks Gabe:D I have heard of that but even after 2 calls with Carrillo Industries I still never found out what custom length I would need either. I just got the HD stock length:cool:

If you haven't put it together yet, you might check with GT Thunder, FDO, or Powroll - all 3 offer a custom H beam rod that is short for stroked cranks.
