Why dont they make aluminum airboxes for a 300ex??

im just curious becase i think that would be a good mod for a 300ex. and you think there could be a way for them to custom make one?

Because they are a whole lot more of a pain in the *** than most of the quads they make em for. Prolly the intake design is what makes it harder. But it will happen

its cause frankly no one cares about 300ex's they figure more people would buy them for 400ex and it would be a waste of money to make a box for 5 people with 300ex's then 100's for the 400ex

400ex owners get touchy because a guy with a 330 kit can rip all over a pretty beefed up 400ex. Plus a 300ex can be had pretty cheap if you get an older one...

And your point is?...... I had a 300ex just months ago, so its not like i dont know what im talking about. I just decided not to dig myself a hole by putting more money into when i knew it wouldnt make it sell for more when it came time for something better.:o

hey now, lets not get al pissed off at each other!! say that honda didnt come out with the 400ex. and you got a 300ex, and you put all of the good stuff on and lets say about you put 3 grand into it. now is that digging as whole? NO. the olny thing you are is making it better!!

BUT to your theory- you could of just saved the money you put in your quad for the new quad Honda is coming out with!! get my point dude. you cannot dig yourself a whole unless you etensionally blow your 4-wheeler up or wanted to go out and hit a tree! that there is wasting your money!

yeah soo whaaat!! 300's are meant to be slower,not as much power,not as good suspension as a 400. the thing that gets me so PISSED off is people like you saying not to get a 300 cause you can just get a 400 and have better than a 300 has!! if it was like they wouldnt make 300ex's !!!

and the only thing i noticed about the 400ex is that the priced dropped and not on the 300ex!!

i think its a bunch of crap that they don't make just as much stuff as they do for the 400 i mean hell yeah i would love to have a 400 but i have a 300 and i love it so i wanna buy mods but wait...nobody makes those kind..so i have to get them made or mod ones for other quads...i just think its really crappy. :o :ermm:

THis is how i look at it, the 300 is a hardcore trail machine. Think about it, it's got a lot of torque, reverse and good suspension, plus it's fun to drive. The 400 is more of a racer, so companies see that and realize that most racers want their bikes to be blingin. Most people that race don't go out and buy a 300. Most people will buy the 400 because of the bigger motor better suspension. But the 400 is setup like that because it is a racer, the 300 really isn't. Trail machines, don't have to be blingin, what are you gonna do show it off to a tree? Thats just my $.02

i see the point u are trying to make so im not bashing u but.... u deffinitly just said the ex-trail bike of the year is not good for trails lol i am not going to say i love my 300 because i dont... i am happy with it but i put a lot of money in it that i could have saved for a 250r ... i then would have a stock gay 300 but that is not the point the point they are trying to make is u are going to make it better be happy then want more and you wont be able to get more besides a bigger bike... i am now saving for a 250r and i kind of wish i didnt just buy my new front end although i do love the way it feels and made an awsome difference but that was 1100 dollars i could have had towards the 250r i am still looking for or a dirtbike not sure yet but i am getting off track...

why the 300, becouse it's what i wanted. "buy a 400" some of us can't just go buy a 400. why don't you go buy a 250r.?
plus the 300 is the xact size i need. it's light enugh for me to tweek in the air, and wip around the trails....and yes i have spent plenty of time on the 400..me and a buddy, swap from time to time, becouse he like's the 300 and i like to ride the 400...but not enugh to swap for good.

how do you figure that? most lumi air box's don't run lids, so you'd only need on hole for the filter, the frame intake's are pretty much usless...

..the reply "buy a 400" does not fit every question about the 300.
i see it all the time.
some of us like the our 3's just as much as they like thier 4's.

WHo are you even talking to. When i started racing my 300ex in harescrmbles i noticed it was gonna cost me alot of money and time to make that 300ex competitive with any atv with more power and better handling. I noticed many small things on it that bothered me and would cost too much to replace. Lets say to get the suspension up to a good level it would cost maybe $1000 for front and rear works shocks with rezzies. And then to the motor. 330 kit, cam, rockers, valve job. Close too another $1500 or more. And when that is all done , hell yeah its gonna be competitive and maybe blow away most stock 400ex's or whatever. But thats not what was important to me when i sold my 300 and got a 400. For about $500-700 i could get a newer, and a bit faster 400ex. I said i was digging a hole because the fact that when i went to sell that 300ex, the power and suspension upgrades wouldnt get me more than a couple hundred more $ than if it was mint condition. I am no 20-30 year old guy with a good job, i am 15 mowing grass and saving for a truck, then i will have to pay for insurance and gas for it, on top of that i will also be paying for my quad racing and parts. In no way do i want to bash you 300ex guys, the 300ex cant be beat as a low cost trail quad with its features. You see what im sayin:confused2 and when it my posts did i ever say to not buy a 300ex, i used to be one of the people "defending" the 300

[/B][/QUOTE] The price hasnt dropped on the 300ex becuase its not in competition with any new quad out with the same price tag ie the z400, dur. And i have noticed the price of used 300ex's in the past year has dropped quite a bit, not too mention alot of people are not buying used 300ex's as much becuase the price of a used 400ex isnt much more.:bandit: :muscle:
