If I was going to get another radar dectector, I would get one that has the jammer built in. I think the name of the company that sells a dectector with jammer is rocky mountain something or other.

i like the 8500 my sister has one and it works pretty good.

neither, I get asway with more without one. cuz once it goes off, they can already have you and if the cop sees it and your speeding, your prolly gettin a ticket

best radar detector known to many are the two little globes sitting on either side of your nose.. otherwise known as your eyes.

doesn't matter a whole lot in NY, instant on seems to be the norm for the SP.. that is when they aren't using laser or the timing strips embedded in the highway.

best option is to just drive like a sane person with traffic and don't worry about it, lol

Thats the only way. The reason the dam thing beeps is because they just radared you.. so youre to late anyways.
