well since i put on the burgard +1s i notice the front end is really darty and it steers really fast... best way for me to explain it...

i'm running .75 toe in and 3 or 4 deegrees camber... what way should i move things to make the front end not want to wonder around as much... its driving me nutz on the mx track!!!

Hey tommy, I just talk with Mark Laeger this evening to ask him how I should set mine with my new a-arms and he said .25 per side. He said it's all a compromise, theres no perfect way. He reccomended between 4-5 degrees for camber.

Also invest in a stabilizer...

could be the castor too. The relation of the spindle top and bottom studs to easch other.

if he is saying 3/4 of an inch toe in OVERALL ,then this is the biggest problem ...causing the dartines& quick steering ..
get in it down to around 3/8 ..& it will be alot easier to control..
a stabilizer aint a bad idea either .

I have 1/4 inch toe in...measured from rear of tire to front. They look almost straight. Works good.

yeah 1/4 ,3/8 is a good place...,some like a lil more ,some alil less there are other variables that come in also

1/4" toe-in means 1/4" overall right?

1/4" toe-in means 1/4" overall right?

Yes it means that when measuring from the same point on the tire that the front will be 1/4" closer than the rear or back side of the front tires.

Do try diff castor/camber angles as some set ups (diff tires and front to rear weight bias in the suspension etc) can be a little to "light" steering and others too stiff. Just try to find the amount that works for you. Most like about 4-5 deg with rounded tires for mx.

any one know an accurate way to measure toe in on a 400ex. Like what point to what point for the front and rear of the tire to the frame?

Caster not camber is the single most frt end property that causes darty and overly quick steering. Some people confuse the two and say caster when they are talking about camber. If you have the standard Burgards I don't think that they are caster adjustable. You have to have heims at the frame mounts to adjust caster. But you should check your caster anyway because if it is too negative you will never get all the darty and quickness out and only be fighting it with other adjustments. You should have about 4 degrees positive caster and if it is much more negative than that I would call burgards if you have non caster adjustable arms. If caster is ok then try about .25 total toe in and 2 degrees negative camber.

yeah i figured it was the toe in probably... i'll take it down to 1/4 to 1/2 inch and see how it goes... i guess its trail and error with the front to see what u like nad don't like...

quad i measure from the center of each tire to each other... then i do the same in the back and i just make the back wider...

theres a line that goes around the stk tires and thats where i measure it from...
