oversize head studs?? needed or not??

if you are going to go through the trouble of replacing your head studs get the oversized......OEM studs will stretch out after being re-torqued so many times..getting new OEM studs is a waste

I told ya so:D Sparks has them so does rocky ridge racing(where I got mine) TC does also but youl probably never get them. I think they were $60-$70

$70 bux, and then $100 or so to have them tapped right....yikes. Kinda spendy. Dune surfer, you got aim?

I reused my stock studs. Most people say that as long as you never remove the factory studs from the jug, they can be reused. Once they're disturbed, they need replacing. Also SPARKS will put oversize studs in for you for $25.00.

Hey bud,
I had mine done at a machine shop in San Marcos. Another thought is you could just replace your stock studs. No tapping, new threads, and only about thirty bucks.:)

I called Sparks and they told me the only problem they've seen is the stud that is on the exhaust side causes the problems. So, they offer 1 longer stud, just for exhaust duties, and they say keep the rest.

Go figure.
