Pilot Jet

so my quad wont idle for nothing, ive removed the choke but that was before the xr400 cam, now i cant get it to idle it will run for 10 sec and just die but if i hold the gas on it will run. Im thinking i just need to adjust the pilot jet/screw but my question is what way do i turn it and how do i know its set right. Also i have a 42 pilot in there at the stock # of turns. Thanks

i cant help u but maybe u can help me... do u know the stock # of the pilot jet? i just put on a white brothers e-series pipe and k&N air filter and we started off by puting in a 160 jet and it was backfiring and wouldnt run so can anyone help me with what jetting i need becuz we cant figure it out. thanx for your help

the stock pilot is a 38,and if you are backfiring it means you are lean.thats also if everything is in proper working order,like no air leaks filter is clean,no exhaust leaks etc.as far as idling has the idle screw been messed with maybe by accident.
