Hey, are X Ring chains worth all the cash? Are they what theyre hyped up to be? Reason I ask is I can get a new one for $75.

I have a D.I.D X-ring chain on my 400ex. Its a good chain but I havent really noticed that much difference between it and a O-ring chain. Ive had it for about a year now and havent had any problems yet. Its up to you though.

well, i just got a did x-ring chain, my first ride out, so much grease flew out of that chain i thought i had a sprocket seal leaking, nope, it was the chain. grease is all over the place, and i will never buy another one. i never had this problem before with my crappy old krause o-ring chains, and now i have 5 hours on this chain, ive had to adjust it twice so far.

Incorrect...

While the ingredients in WD-40 are secret, we can tell you what WD-40 does NOT contain. WD-40 does not contain silicone, kerosene, water, wax, graphite, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), or any known cancer-causing agents.

:huh You can buy them at Rockt Mtn. for around $55 all the time! Thats no deal.

And Chains will stretch a little at first when they break in, and you should use a lube designed for O or X ring chains to keep from damaging the rings that keep out the dirt. I use Maxima Chain Guard and I've been running my stock DID chain for two seasons.(Same one)

jason, i didnt lube it at all yet. as a matter of fact, i wi[ped the grease off of the outside of it, cuz when i got it, it was covered in white grease.

so your crying about them oiling the chain.:huh i just bought the did x ring chain and i have had to tighten it twice my first couple hours on the quad. it has been fine since then. i was thinking about going with the sidewinder stuff, but i think sidewinder is a rip off.

I rarely ever have to adjust my X-ring chain.

WD-40:eek2: I use that stuff to clean grease off stuff and it works great. I dont know why you would put it on a chain unless it was rusty and wouldnt move barely. I use Bel-ray Super Clean chain lube. That stuff works good but stay away from WD-40 except for cleaning your frame and stuff.

esr250r, grow up. im not crying. just if the x-rings were so good, why the hell is all the grease coming out of the chain?? the entire point of the o or x ring is to hold the grease IN the chain, not let it fling all over the friggin place.

it was just all the excess grease flipping off the chain. im sure that the grease was still in the x ring.
