r-4 is louder but in my opinion id have to say id like the r-4 sound over my e-series.i really like the e-series though because it isnt so loud.its hard to say exactly the difference between them but the r-4 is louder.i think the r-4 is a great pipe though so is the e-series.it comes down to if you want disks or a screen and what looks better..both are great
