Idle or not to idle?

My 2000 400EX runs fine but if it idles for about 10 seconds or longer and then you go to throttle it, it dies. Restarts at the touch of the button but whats a fix or/and cause for this? Increase idle? I have noticed that it idles slower than my bud's Warrior. Any help is appreciated.

let it warm up real good it might just be the weather cuz down here mine does that when i start it

u just found out how ur 400ex is a cold blooded creature... they don't idle for nuttin when cold just let it warm up and it be fine...

Yeah, I know its a cold natured "beast" but it does this after a couple of hours riding.

there is a screw that messes around with the idle, we had to move it for my 440 to use, i think it is the big, flat head screw below the carb, i think.
