What Jet Sizes???

I bought a Yoshimura slip-on and a K&N Power Kit for my 01 400ex, should I go with the stage 1 or the stage 2 jetting, and what sizes to start out with. I live in northern Ohio if that helps anybody as far as air and climate goes.

I live in northeastern Ohio and I put the stage 2 in mine. I went with the recommended 170 (DynoJet #) main. Man did my EX really come alive. As long as you don't mind riding with the airbox lid off, definitely go with the stage 2. It gives the most power.

So the stage 2 has to be run with the airbox lid off? Personally, I'd rather not do that just to be safer than sorry ya know, I just wanted to go the biggest i could go.

Better idea just do the stage 1 then or can I get away with 2?

Just take the lid off and use a K&N or Outerwears prefilter. You are going to get a lot more power out of the Stage 2!

I know that's the way to go for power, but I just imagine myself going thru water and filling the airbox up or something, or getting crap in the airbox, that's all, I'd rather not compromise the machine a bit for a slighter increase in power.

when u take off ur air box lid buy 2 things.
1. out wears for the air filter
2. outerwears air box cover

this works great for me...

do this to your lid. lets air in & keeps crap out. splash water runs right off, but it will take on water if you submerge it. then again you will already have a wet plug if you are in water that deep.

whatever you do to the lid........don't forget to do this so that water entering can also exit.

I think I'm going to keep the airbox lid on though.

What jets from the power kit should I use with the Yoshimura slip-on, the K&N filter and outerwear, and the box lid on?
