I just got my new 2003 400EX and am going to go ahead and get the basic bolt ons for it, an e series slip on, filter, and a jet kit, possibly a rev kit but wanted to do something else. I really don't want to do anything internal for now, so I was thinking about a cam but I don't know if it is even worth it with such mild work, what do you guys recommend. I know this sounds like a newbie question but I my last bike was a banshee where it is extremely easy to make power unlike our 4 strokes now.

like I said I don't want to do any internal work so basically my question was if the cam was worth it and if not what is after the basics

any top end work is a cake walk if you have a manual and an extra set of hands....get a drop in cam...a higher comp piston...and a 416/426 bore...and a good flowing exhaust...

the look on your face will go from:) to :eek2: :eek2:

heres what you do

if the money situation is good for ya

bore it to a 416....everything including gaskets and bore... 165$$

Cam...depends on what you want....drop ins are best if you dont want the hassle of rebuilding that head and its innards

price... about 150 bucks + or -

good pipe.....get the best... curtis sparks or hmf

lrd any good engine builders pipe

price very high:D :D :D

but after that......there will be a very mean machine with a ball sack bigger than a basketball

:ermm:

yea i'd say get a good chassis and see how tough you are on that before you go getting all worked up about a motor.any1 that knows anything will build up their chassis-suspension/a-arms axle and swingarn before they pump any kind of motor into any machine-and if youre really not a pu**y get a twist throttle.JMO but who am i.

thats typical...man just get a good chassis and learn how to max out on that with the motor you got, guaranteed you wont touch me after that so why get all worked up about a motor????????
