400 ex axle won't fit in a 300ex

I bent my 300 axle and i have heard that a 400 axle will fit. It won't. It is about a quater inch to long.

What do you mean too long? Over all length or what? I would think that a little longer would help you out and it is only a 1/4". Let me know because I am getting a new axle for mine and was going to sell mine to a guy to put on his 250x.

i am pretty sure a 300ex/250x bearing carrier is shorter than the 400ex/250r ones! a 400 axle will fit on a R and a 250x will fit on a 300ex but not 400 to 300. hah if that made sence!

That makes sense that the bearing carrier is not the same length. Thanks for the info. :)
