clutch spring

I have a 400EX and I think it has an aftermarket clutch. The dealer that I had work on it (top end) said that it felt like it was aftermarket. Since that time I have felt the clutch spring pressure on several other 400's and mine is much stiffer. I have taken off the lower end of the cable and checked the cable and it is not binding any where. I also checked the clutch arm and it feels prtty stiff to me. I dont know how the internal mechanics of these clutches works, but is there any way to make the spring pressure easier or what are my options?
