i polished my axle, and i am in the process of doing the rear brake caliper also. i know that some metals will rust bad if polished without clearcoat...so will they rust? or not?

Steel=Rust

Aluminum(sp?)=no rust

only polish steel things if you can maintain them.

all those you mentioned are steel on the 400ex except for the caliper. calipers are real pains in the arse to polish though cause they have so many grooves and indentions on them. lata

well ive got the brake pedal and the shifter clear coated, so they are holding up well. i cant reallllly afford PCing, so i guess i'll just spray them with clearcoat
