400ex chain????

Hey,

I just got my new chain in the mail today and I think I recieved the wrong size, I got the 520nz D.I.D. chain but it has 100 links. My question is how much links are on a stock 400ex chain? I am running stock gearing.

In my Rocky Mountain atv book it list the stock chain as a 520x94. I hope this helps.

Chain is always sold in the "too much" form. You'll just have to wrap it around and mark where the links meet and then cut it down. I've always set my axle to about 1/3 of the way down the swingarm and then mark my chain. These leaves about 2/3 of total chain adjustment left.

oh no............not this again!
stock chain is 47 links (counting every 2 pins as one link) or 94 total pins. you can remove links by grinding the face of 2 pins off with a grinder, and tapping the pins through. hope this helps.
