I am thinking about buying a 1987 suzuki lt250r, and i really like the quad, except for the fender design.
And i was wondering if any of you had experience with modifying honda 250r or suzuki z400 fenders so that it would fit on the lt250r frame.
Would it just be a matter of welding new fender mounting brackets on the frame if the fenders didnt fit the way i wanted them to?
If any of you photoshop experts could somehow put the z400 fenders on a pic of a lt250r i would really appreciate it.

duct tape will be your best friend, possibly bungee cords also

Really?
So there is no way to get the fenders to fit properly, even after relocationg the fender mounting brackets?
ahhh that would stink, because i would really like to run some other type of fenders rather than the fugly stock ones.

Yeah,
That sure is the truth David.
Lots of time and tons of money can make almost anything work.

I think you'll run into more problems than just fender brackets. The R seems to have a lower profile hood and the radiator in a lower position than the LT. Lets compare:

Ok, i'll scrap the idea of the 250r plastic working.
But do u think that z400 plastic might work, because it looks like the front fenders are slightly rounded so it might allow room for the lt's radiator.

i wouldn't scrap the idea! it is very possible to do, s**t, we are putting 250r front fenders on my little bros blaster, it take some thinking, but not to much, and about $30 for brackets and it looks awesome! (they aren't on yet, we just set my set on there to see first)

If I have time today I'll pull the plastics off both bikes and take a pic of them side by side. It might work, I'd just be most concerned about cooling on the LT due to it's radiator location. Maybe if you got one of those QuadTech hoods with the scoop it would cure the cooling issue.
You could have a Suzonda, or a Honzuki!
My LT is a Suwasaki or a Kawazuki anyway. heh
