Hey,

I'm in the mids of mounting a elka rear shock resevoir and I'm having trouble finding were to mount it. I mounted it on the subframe rail behind the battery, but I'm scared the chain will hit the resevoir when the shock bottoms. The resevoir line isnt long enough for me to mount it up front. Some pictures and advice would help please.

Thanks, Norm

Norm b4 i sold it to you. I bolted the rezzie where the little tool thing use to be. Behing the battery. Try that.

Well my Elka rear shock rezzy line was like 12 feet long, so I mounted it behind my radiator.

i ran mine up the left side(battery side) by the gas tank and put it on the frame right behind the front piggyback above the bottom front fender bracket. there isnt much clearance between it and the bracket but it fits. sorry, no pic

Rico does that mean that your shocks are valved a little too stiff for xc then, or were your works undervalved so much that these feel great on the mx?

Not flaming but I know the elka's on mine would be getting revalved and sprung if I was getting into mx. The rebound on the fronts would deff need to be different for landing bigger jumps than it would for flattening the typical woods stuff.

Oh well just curious.

Yea. you seen mine on my grab bar. I did that cause with all my rads and oil cooler stuff there was no other logical place. The way i mounted it keeps it outa the way for lifting up my bike but is easy to adjust on the fly. And also keeps it away from the pipe or engine components that heat the oil inside the rezzie. It looks wierd but works perfect. surpisingly your the first person to say something

i like how he mounted it... that way it won't get all the heat from engine and other compents... and like he said, you can adjust on the fly(basicly) the only thing i would be worried about is if he crashed and ripped the grab bar off and tore the rezzy can off of the shock... that will cost some big bucks!!!

BTW are those elkas lossening up...??

Yea. they sent me some softer mainsprings and some softer center springs so i could play around with different setups. I doubt the grab bar will ever rip off. knock on wood. Last weekend practiceing at gopher i could really tell they were still to hard.
