Have an 02 400ex with uni, air box lid holes, and just put on HMF full exaust. I am seeing all kinds of different jetting solutions. HMF says 200 main with screw 3 and a quarter out, but I dunno. Any suggestions. I hate to be a pain in the *** for another jetting ques., but I am sure someone has the same mods as me that was faced with the same prob. Sould I buy the dial a jet? Thanks, Jake

200 is wayy to big.. this is a stock carb your talking about, right? I am almost positive that the stock main jet is 148. If I were you I would try like maybe a 160 with the screw 2 +/- 1/2 turns out. I cant see you needing anything bigger than a 160 depending on your eleveation.. 200 seems a little crazy to me. I think I have a 158 with a 40 pilot, dropped the clip one on the needle. that is with an HMF slipon and a K&N with 6 holes in the airbox.. I dont think that the full system would make a big enough difference to go up in jet size that much.. I would try a 160-165 If I were you.. just keep on going up untill it starts to bog. then go back down one jet size.. thats what usually works for me. I know that at my honda dealer if I bring my old jet back and say it didnt work for me they just let me trade it in. so its not like you need to buy a lot of jets. But anyways... if I were you I would start at like a 160 to a 165 and go off of that.. just my .02

My dealer has a 170 in stock but not a 160 or 165. I will try that with the screw in a little more. So I should raise the needle too about one position? I love this stuff....:eek2:

Did a 170, stock needle position, rear part of the airbox lid is lifted. The plug is a brownish color. Good? Should i try moving the needle?

should be a brownish tan color.. as long as it feels like its running good you should be good to go

the pilot screw is a real blast trying to adjust.
