Bigger pilot=Higher Idle??

I just put in a 42 pilot jet on my 300EX and turned the screw in one half turn.
When I got it started it was idling extremely high, I had to actually adjust the throttle cable to get it down.....
The battery is dead so I didnt feel like messing with it until it is charged. But I was wondering if the Idle was like that because of the bigger Pilot or because I messed up the throttle cable somewhere somehow??

make sure you didnt kink the cable under the gas tank, it happened to me, and it lasted half a race at 1/4 throttle
