Sell 300 for 250r ??

Im thinking about dicussing with my dad about selling my 300ex with many mods listed below and investing in a cheap 250r because ive seen a couple nice ones on here and ebay.....My main question is how much maintaince is involved and i ride mostly hills and trails is it worth it cuz i hate the weak power in the 300ex....Thanks !:blah

It depends on what your style is. The 250r is a 2 stroke with a powerband which means power will only really start to kick in in certain spots of the rpm range. But they are very fast and well built machines. There is not a whole lot more maintenece that goes with them but its ur call. You could also sell ur 300ex and get a used 400ex or put a downpayment on a 400ex.

yea, I thought that was a little weird too, i'm runnin a 152 in my modded 400 and its still a bit rich, i should be at 150. I think ur a bit fat in ur jetting.

I have both at the moment a 300 and a 250r. I like my 300 and i love my R. Although i have to sell my R at the moment. Trail riding the R is a lot different than the 300, the power is completely different. Takeing care of an R is just like anything else keep up with the regular maintenance and your fine. I put a little more time into my machines just because i like to keep them perfect and clean. This way if i go out on the trail i never have to worry about anything. You keep care of your machine, your machine will take care of you.

i hope you can find a half desent 250r everyone beats the h3ll out of them. sounds like 300exazzkikr is nice to his unlike most people that have them. ive riden one and there a blast to ride it was only stock but still they rip really good. hope you dad lets you get one. :devil
