You do that in a water smoker, or a dry smoker? When I use my water smoker, and apple wood I fill the water bowl with apple cider and toss in a fresh cinnamon stick. I have done a turkey like that once and it was awsome, But I use that all the time for my babby back ribs. I placed third with them at the first BBQcook off I went too:D :D

i killed it with a 870 and winchester 4 shot turkey load

soggy....that recipe sounds like the chit

:D i have both types of smokers and i just might try that on this one

yeah i was happy, i was a lil late gettin set up and 7 turkeys were already in the field. i tried callin them but nuttin. so i rushed the flock and scattered them...then reset up about 1/8 a mile away and within 10 minutes i had all 7 toms strutting 30 yards from me:D i picked the biggest one and lett'em have it. ive killed a hen in our fall season, and have worked toms before but this is the first one ive been able to take clean. i have one more tag left...maybe ill try the ol' bow out:p

Thats cool pappy! Good job! We raise Turkeys here every so often, our smallest was like 16lbs and largest was 30 some... Most are around 24lbs :D Not wild turkey's, just the white ones, wild ones are too hard to get in at night (to many wild killers here to leave them out over night)

24 pounds that's not to bad, me and my dad rasied some chickens like 2 years ago we had about 60, the last ones that we dressed out we about 14 pounds cleaned :D

Pretty sweet..!

Turkey opens up here on the 1st of May..

They have been non-existant here for the last 100 years or so.. About 10 years back they reintroduced them, now they are all over the place..

Got the Mossberg all dialed in, I can feel a sick day coming on.. :D

Turkey are becoming way over populated here in middle TN . I see them in groups of up to 30-40 birds almost everyday all over my county. They are starting to graze, dont think thats the technical term for it, in residential areas around here.

same here leo....
i think it was in the late 70's they started introducing them from western maryland into all areas of the state. i saw my first "local" wild turkey in 1989.....then it seemed like everywhere near our farm they could be spotted. they are a cool bird and very tuff to hunt.

cough cough....i hear ya leo:p
