I am in the market to pick up a high Comp piston and new Cam real soon just need to know, which of these two Cams is the better over all performer (WEB Cams 450-451) or (Hot Cams Stage 2), and why you think one is better than the other. I mostly desert and trail ride here is AZ and accoasionaly some hill climing, I just would like my bike to be a bit sanpper and pull harder through out all the gears, yes I do have an exhaust already sorry for all the qusetions.

Thanks any info on this topic will be highly appreciated,

I dont believe from what I remember that there is a lot of diff between the two(similar specs.) beyond the hotcam being designed to run on the stock rockers (saves you around 250.00)

I have the 450/451 and from what I hear it is mildly more aggressive than the hotcam stage 2, but not a huge difference. I am happy with it.

my buddy and i both have 250ex. both the same modified wise except his cam. we were drag racing yesterday and he was whooping the crap out of me. i jumped on his bike with his WEB cam in it and it made a hell of a difference. he has a web cam and it works.

I had the web cam all around in my bike just switched to the Hot cam and my bike seems like it has more torque I think some of it is the cam but most of it was the exhaust (sparks) and the FCR Carb.. :blah

ANYBODY ELSE HAVE ANY MORE INFO ON THE WEB CAM AND THE HOT CAMS STAGE 2 WHICH ONE IS BETTER FOR ALL AROUND POWER.

What I was trying to say earlier is that since the specs. are close there shouldnt be a large diff.

If I get time I will try to post the specs.

here are the specs:
Hotcams stage 2:
Intake lift = 8.8mm @ 254 duration
Exhaust lift = 8.6mm @ 254 duration

Web Cam 450/451grind
Intake lift = .350 (inches) @ 256 duration
Exhaust lift = .345(inches) @ 256 duration

.350 inches = 8.9mm
.345 inches = 8.8mm

The web cam has a larger lift on both intake and exhaust and a longer duration.

I am not sure how to say this but I will try, but I have heard that some cams will actual increase the HP midley but the torque will increase dramaticly, so in this case which on of these 2 (Hot cams stage 2) or Web cam 450/451/ keep in mind they will use the same high Comp piston, which one will have more torque, even know the specs are fairly close.
Thanks ATVMBACA

i'm pretty sure the web cam well beat it barely by torque and hp, but again it won't be big.

Just remember that the Hotcam is a drop-in cam (designed to work with the stock rocker arms) while the WebCam requires hardfaced rockers.

Many people reccomend purchasing new rocker arms with a drop-in cam, but it's not absolutly necessary.
