little tip for ya

I work for a honda dealership in canada, and the owner (he has a 400ex also) was talking to the techs for honda. they said to use a ignition coil off a cr250. it's suppose to have better spark than the stock coil. i have one on my 400, but i did other mods at the sametime i installed it, so i can't really tell if it made a difference. anyone else heard of this, or tried one? talk to ya later.

Haven't heard about this, but maybe i'll give it a try. Off what year cr250 does it have to be from?

2002 and 2003 are the same, thats the one i'm using. thats also the part # i gave. i put a hotcam stage 1 on at the same time, and there was a big difference. it was probley the cam, but better spark doesn't hurt.

Does anyone know anything else about this mod? It probly couldn't do any damage, and its fairly cheep, it might be worth a try.

its under, frame group/wire harness.

the coil is about an inch shorter than the stock ex part. with a small bracket it fit fine. use the old wire and cap.
