Does anybody know the exact length of stock 300EX shocks?? Brokeitin3 measured his stock 250EX shocks and said they are 12.5inches front and 13 inches back. I am needing shocks that are 13 inches front and 13 inches back roughly. Also if anybody could get me some close up pics of the front and rear shock mounts for a 300EX and\or 250EX that would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Chad

Front shocks on my brothers 300EX measure to be, 12.5 inches from top bolt to bottom bolt, 13.5 for the whole shock top to bottom. The rear is 14.5-15 inches.(I had to bend the tape, so it should fall between those numbers though.) Hope it helps.

chad, i dont know the exact length but, i have seen 300 shocks on 400's at flat track races (with no lowering kit) and it really puts a 400 on the ground. i am only positive on the fronts though

Guys I sure appreciate the help!! I guess the 250EX and 300EX front shocks are the same length then. Im really needing to get some shocks for this thing, but I want to make sure I get the right length. The struts that are on my bike now are pretty close to 13.5inches from bolt to bolt,,,thats the front and the rear, and it pretty much sits perfectly the way I want it. If the rear stock 300EX shock is 14.5-15 inches then thats going to be a tad bit too long. The stock rear 250EX shock is 13 inches so thats going to be just about perfect. Looks like I need a stock rear 250EX shock and if the stock 250EX and 300EX fronts are both 12.5inches than It really doesnt matter, but Im going to have to find a way(build a small bracket or something)to make them a tad bit longer. Come on you guys with some stock shock sitting around, hook up a fellow EXRider! I even have a trick Trail Tech Billet light kit I would be williong to trade for some shocks if you guys wanted! Let me know!
Thanks for the help!

What is it running in the back? I dont like how the back sits lower than the front. Does it still have stock a-arms? Ive got +2's on mine. I like my front to sit a little bit lower than the back!

Chad,
By the end of next I will have some 2003 300ex front shocks for sale. There pretty much brand new.
I bought the quad new in Janurary so they ain't that old, with no leaks, like 1 or 2 scrathes on them, that's it.

RIght now I am waiting for my 400ex shocks to get here, when they recieve the money order.

So if you want too, I would be more than happy to sell them to you.

William

He told me awhile ago , I think he said he was running a clamp on filter without an airbox and the linkage removed with one of his stock 400ex front shocks mounted up.

Stock 300ex front shocks are 13" from center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole. The 300ex rear shock is 14.38" from center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole. And the 250ex front shocks are 12.5" from center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole. The 250ex rear shock is 15.13" from center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole.
All of my info comes from www.worksperfomance.com. I don't think that you want to go any lower than 13" shocks up front. If you do, your a-arms will be inverted and that's not what you want.
