Alright everyone, here is what I am running. 1999 400ex, ross 416 piston, S2 hotcam, K&N jet kit, open air box w/no toil filter, & 14t frt sproket. exhaust is stock except for ground out header welds. I know I should put at least a slip-on on it, but I dont want the noise.

165 main jet, 42 pilot, 3 1/2 on air screw, k&n needle middle position.

Any way checked the plug last weekend and it is black, not terrible but I am definitly running rich.

The bike runs great

What are you thoughts on my jetting to get rid of the black plug?

Colby mentioned to me that with out a pipe I might have some jetting probs.

What does ya think

All opinions appreciated

Dude you need to at least put a silencer on there just get a quiet core silencer you want more air flow with kit, which will give u a
little more power too you have more compression now, and that stocker restricts alot of air flow, do that or put a bigger jet(170)
but it wont solve the prob the best, get a pipe to fix ur jetting then it will be easier dont be a chump, there are alot of pipes with quiet cores good luck!
