To understand the story see this post from last week.

TO make a long story short I didn't take the axle off to polish it. It took some sanding and more sanding, and more sanding but it came out good enough. Even thou it is probably the worst polishing job I have ever done it still looks great. The few scratches that do show up aren't bad at all. It ecspecially looked better when I painted the lock nut black with a engine clear on it... Can out nicer than expected... I'm sure it would have looked like a friggin mirror if I would have taken it off but oh well....

Here's a close up of the axle

Here is a pic of the entire axle where you can see the black lock nut I painted. The brake caliper is being sanded right now to get it smooth and ready to polish.

CFM, I haven't seen them selling these anymore. All the ones they sell now that I have seen on E-bay have lids. This was one of theie early ones when they just started selling them....

Looks good! But Ill warn you, that brake caliper is a mofo to polish!! I used a Dremel and a sanding ring on it to sand my caliper down. The only grit I could find for the Dremel(180 I think??) was a little too much. It left little ruts in the brake caliper, but after I put it to the polishing wheels with some compunds it turned out pretty nice,,,looks better than it did anyway!!!

I actually am use a few attachment on my dremel. The sanding wheel attachment I was using yesterday was probably a 250 - 350 grit which was great to knock out the main ruts and make it smooth on each side. Once I did most of that (still have to do some of it) I started hitting it with 220 paper and once that is done I will hit it with 400 before taking my polishing wheel to it...

You see wicked you drank too much and good things happen, like at Gorman, Tazz told me that you tired to take him for a ride in the back of your truck.

Now I know it's none of my business, what is done is done. And I'm pretty it's worth it,

hahhaahh

That looks real good, I like the look of polished stuff but I don't like doing it myself so boring...
